Venus passes between Earth and Sun on Friday October 23 (inferior conjunction). It returns before dawn as the Morning Star (Phosphorus), low in the east-southeast. First naked-eye chance about Nov 1–2, best by mid-November.
The mark.
We mark the new moon with a short rite and three written intentions.
The 5 steps (at home, 18+).
- Clear the space. Ring a bowl (or a glass) three times. Clear one surface. Set a stone you love on it. Three slow breaths, phone off.
- Write. Light one white candle (never leave it unattended; indoors, it is fire season). Write three intentions by hand, in the present tense: “I am…”, “I do…”.
- Speak. Read the three lines aloud, slowly, one breath per line. Then “Per aspera ad astra” (through hardship, to the stars), and ten seconds of silence.
- Seal. Fold the page toward you twice, seal it (wax, tape or ribbon), keep it somewhere private. Open it Fri Oct 23. Snuff the candle.
- Act within 24 hours. One real action per line. The rite sets the aim; the work does the rest.
